About Our School

At the heart of our work lies a commitment to quality, sustainability, and empowerment. Our store is an extension of our herbal school — a curated space where you’ll find hand-selected seeds, natural remedies, botanical skincare, and practical tools for a self-reliant lifestyle.

Each product is created or chosen with intention, often crafted by herbalists, healers, and small-scale growers who share our vision for a healthier, more grounded world.

Whether you’re a student of herbal medicine or simply someone who values nature and wellness, we invite you to explore our offerings and support your journey.

HERBAL WISDOM ROOTED IN EXPERIENCE

About Our Founder

“I believe plants heal more than bodies — they reconnect us to the land, our ancestors, and ourselves.”

María Hrefna Hjálmarsdóttir Ringdal is a clinical herbalist, educator, and the visionary behind Herb Woman School. Raised in the rich landscape of Iceland and now living on a small farm in Rogaland, Norway, María tends her garden in harmony with nature, guided by sustainability and centuries-old herbal wisdom.

Her connection to herbs began early: from the age of five, she was immersed in the world of plants by her grandmothers, who passed down their herbal knowledge and traditions. These women — wise, nurturing, and deeply in tune with the natural world — were her first teachers. Their guidance shaped María’s lifelong respect for the healing power of plants and her sense of herbalism as both craft and calling.

With a diverse background spanning herbal medicine, biology, aquaculture, skincare science, and winemaking, María brings both depth and breadth to her teachings. She has held leadership roles across industries — from tech and finance to hospitality and wellness — and once ran one of Norway’s largest natural beauty clinics, serving thousands with her own line of herbal cosmetics.

Having lived and worked in Iceland, Sweden, the UAE, and Norway, María speaks five languages fluently and bridges cultures with grace. Her mission is to empower others through grounded, plant-based knowledge and to make herbalism accessible, practical, and rooted in both tradition and scientific integrity.
